The Impact of Using
Social Media on the Assignment of Students

Abstact
Social media is a tool that until now
has always been used by people to obtain information, communicate with friends,
work relatives, and relatives and family. Every individual must have a social
media account. Starting from facebook, instagram, line, We-Chat, whatsapp,
telegram, and so forth. The phone that we often hold and carry everywhere must
never be left behind whose name is social media. In addition, today's young
people often spend their free time playing online games, hunting, hiking,
touring, going to the beach with friends and so on. Social media without us
knowing it has become addictive, as if humans will always feel confused and
uncertain when there is no social media. Likewise with online games, which have
higher opium levels than social media. Why do I say that? Because the writer
feels opiate with the online game.
There have been various ways the writer
did to leave and not play online games anymore. It turned out that the results
were in vain and only left a little chaos when the writer could not play online
games for a long time. Regarding these impacts, some of my writer's friends
also feel what the writer is currently feeling. Not that the author reinforces the
argument by taking some experience from friends, but this is one of the effects
of using online games that are happening right now. The hope is that we can all
rearrange our time so that no such things happen again.
This is a special appeal to the writer
himself so that the writer is aware of the importance of time and is
unfortunate when we fill our free time with activities that have no benefit at
all. Some youtube users, especially their gamers are trained to manage their
time. They can divide their time to play, study and socialize carefully.
Nothing else can stop gaming youtubers from becoming what has become a habit
for him. For gamers "Playing games is routine, and socializing and
learning are priorities. So, our more important obligations are not to be
defeated by online games that only provide temporary satisfaction. Likewise
when playing, etc. at the end of playing we lose, surely we will feel that we
are "Noob Player". And even we still have time to judge myself and a
teammate / Crew.
Not too much what the writer will say at
this opening. The author is very grateful to the parents of the writer who
until this moment still always pray for the success of the writer. Success in
the world and the after this... takes effect, amen. Acknowledgments and writers

The emergence of
technological innovation in the 20th century made a variety of changes at the
university. As a result of the industrial revolution that resulted in
technology already mastered by universities in industrial countries.
(Darmaningntyas, 2005). So that technology has not become a taboo subject for
the academic community at the university. This makes the writer believe that
social media has been known since the industrial revolution and has even begun
to develop before.
Social media is used as a
web-based communication tool or application that allows its users to interact
with each other by providing information to the public or people (Karinov, 2019) .
In the use of social media
there are several advantages and disadvantages. The advantages we can get; (1)
Can communicate with friends, relatives, relatives, without having to meet face
to face. (2) Sometimes with social media, we can also find old friends who
haven't met us for several years. (3) Faster in getting information. If we have
a Twitter account, that's an advantage, because on Twitter a lot of new
information is being delivered.
While social media also has
shortcomings, and it can no longer be denied. Because in every advantage there
is always a deficiency. (1) It is often misused by unscrupulous people to
commit criminal acts. For example, delivering hoaxes, committing fraud in
buying and selling, kidnapping children, and so on. In addition, there are also
(2) some who use fake accounts claiming to be artists or famous people. So,
people who do not know personally that person will assume that it is an
artist's account without any lies.
Responding to several cases
that often occur in Indonesia, the author is eager to check the cases that
always occur in social media. Like fake chat, fraud, and other criminal cases.
The author has also asked a
number of my writer's friends who were at the "A cup of Java,
Yogyakarta" coffee shop where I asked about (1) What are the benefits of
social media for you? (2) Why do you use social media as a communication tool?
(3) What are the advantages and disadvantages of social media that you use? (4)
Why did you choose social media? Why not just face to face with the person you
are going to communicate with?
From some of the answers
that are very helpful in this study, there are answers that are very unique to
me. According to respondent 1, Social media is very useful if used as much as
possible. The purpose of as much as possible here is we use it for positive
things without leaving the values contained in the social media. I also use social media
as a communication tool with my family at home, and the rest I sell via
Facebook. The strengths and weaknesses of social media depend on who uses it.
If it's positive, there will be many advantages. Vice versa, if negative will
certainly have many shortcomings. And I also chose social media because it is a
tool that makes it easier for us to communicate with others. Starting from
friends, family, relatives, and everyone who knows us. And at the end he
expressed some of his opinions related to the relationship between college
assignments and social media. It turned out that social media really helped him
in doing his work. Both take-home assignments or class assignment.
A student can use social
media to ask friends of one study program, one organization, or one region.
Students can also discuss with each other through social media. For example,
whatsapp group study program for each class, discussion group, lecture
material, and other groups.
